ATHENS - After signing the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have their eyes set on doing the same thing in this next 2025 recruiting cycle.
The peach-state is once again loaded with top talent, and two of the state’s top receivers confirmed with Dawg Post that they’ll be back in Athens next weekend for a big Jr. Day visit.
One top target in town is four-star Travis Smith Jr.. The No. 1 receiver prospect in Georgia according to Dawg Post, Smith Jr. believes he is a major priority for Bryan McClendon and the Bulldog staff in the 2025 class.
The Westlake High School playmaker is coming off a tremendous 2023 season as a junior where he torched defenses on a consistent basis.
“Coach McClendon and I have a very great relationship”, the 6-foot-4 195-pounder told Dawg Post. “He is one of the most relatable coaches I have met on any level. Before all the offers came he already knew my potential.
As a prospect, this big-play wideout has a long frame with tremendous ball skills and above-average speed for his size. He can pluck the ball out of the air with ease and shows outstanding body control in the air. A vertical threat down the field, this Atlanta native is a crisp route-runner who can create separation on his own down the field. He’s a weapon after the catch as well who can be tough to bring down by a smaller defedner. He’s a dynamic wideout who is only scratching the surface of his potential, and sources say the Bulldogs sit in an excellent position with him right now.
Smith Jr. is ranked as the No. 153 overall prospect and the No. 20 WR in the country for the 2025 class.

Right now, the Baltimore Ravens have +350 odds to win the Super Bowl this season according to FanDuel.
Another receiver coming to town is four-star Edward Coleman. The 5-foot-11 180-pounder is an instant-impact receiver with a nice blend of speed and physicality. He shows the ability to make big yards after the catch and knows how to bounce off tackles for extra yards. He gets upfield quickly after the catch, he has good straight-line speed, and made plays consistently each Friday night. He’s a max-effort guy with the potential to see his ranking climb more and more over the next 12 months. The Savannah native out of Calvary Day confirmed with Dawg Post that he’ll be back in Athens this month so he’s one to keep an eye on moving forward.
