ATHENS - Is there a program in college football turning out more elite left tackles than the Georgia Bulldogs right now?

Alabama may have a case, but still, Kirby Smart and the Dawgs are doing it as well, if not better, than everyone else.

From Isaiah Wynn, to Andrew Thomas, to Jamaree Salyer, to Broderick Jones, if you play left tackle at Georgia, you’re going to play in the NFL. You also have a great shot at being selected in the 1st round.

The left tackle spot was a question mark heading into the 2023 season with Broderick Jones leaving, but sources close to the program were’nt worried.

They knew who was ready to step up, and that was big Earnest Greene III. An elite tackle prospect from Georgia’s 2022 class, Greene is a California native who came to Georgia knowing he’d be put in an excellent position to continue the left tackle tradition at Georgia.

While he’s still improving, it’s easy to see the potential he’ll bring to the table as a multi-year starter next year. The big 6-foot-4 320-pounder spoke with the media recently about his progression and where he’s improved the most this season.

Right now, the San Francisco 49ers have +210 odds to win the Super Bowl this season according to FanDuel

On if he had a moment this year where he learned what it took to be a collegiate tackle...

"Honestly, I'll say against Auburn. That was my first away game playing in the SEC in a big stadium like Jordan-Hare. A lot of people say it's kind of difficult to play in there, and I experienced that on the first drive not being able to hear that snap and all that stuff. So, just little stuff like that - stuff you hear from the other guys that you actually get to experience. That was my moment, for sure."

On where he has improved the most the season...

"I would say, honestly, communication. That was one of the biggest things. Just being out their echoing, communicating calls. Sometimes you see something and have to get it all the way down to Sed. I would say that is one of the biggest things about being an offensive lineman - the communication and echoing everything, all the calls, making sure everybody is on the same page. I would say that communication is one of the things I tried to improve myself on during the year."

Georgia starting guard Dylan Fairchild also praised Greene’s efforts this year after Georgia’s dominant 60-point win over Florida State in the Orange Bowl...

”He’s been amazing. He may be younger than me, but he’s a guy I can look too for answers sometimes. We look up to each other in a way. We work well with each other and can lean on each other when things get tough.”
