UGA Football WR Ladd McConkey Makes Decision On Orange Bowl Status

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - UGA football WR Ladd McConkey spoke with the media on Thursday about Georgia’s upcoming game against Florida State.
WR Ladd McConkey On deciding to play in the Orange Bowl:
“Especially with how many games I've missed this year - I missed the first four, came back, and then missed a couple more after that - any chance I can get out there and go play with these guys, I'm going to go out there and do it and leave it all leave it all out there.”
On the 2023 season:
“I guess it didn't go the way we really wanted it to. Obviously, the end goal was go to the playoffs win the national championship. We didn't get that but we have another opportunity to go out and play. And, me specifically, I know how quickly it can be taken away missing so many games. So anytime I get out here I will take full advantage of it and try to just make the most of it.”
On WR Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint’s support:
“He's a leader in our room. He’s been here with me all four years. I know he's been through injury. He's done it and he's dealt with it. He’s a guy I could say that was just always there for you with anything you need, whether it's on the field off the field. I know I've gotten Marcus to answer the phone. He's going to pick up with a smile on his face. That's my guy. I'm super thankful for him… I feel like that goes for any teammate. We have so many good guys on our team. I can trust all of them. They're my best friends, my brothers. (I am) so super thankful to be part of such a close-knit group for sure.”
On Florida State’s defense and how they compare to a SEC unit:
“They play super hard. They're athletic. They're a good team. They play good football together. From whistle to whistle, they're flying around full speed. So it's going to be a challenge and we're looking forward to it look… Everybody has a little twist on things. Everyone has good players. I mean that's kind of how you compare teams. If you're playing Division I football you're a good player. It doesn't matter (what conference) you're from. So I guess in that sense, everybody's good. Everybody's fast. Everybody can be big. They're a really good team. We're super excited about going out there competing against them.”
