BUFORD - After not signing a quarterback in the 2023 class, the Georgia Bulldogs went out and landed two from this current 2024 cycle.
One of them, of course, is 5-star Dylan Raiola. The gifted 6-foot-3 230-pound gunslinger played a multiple high schools over the last four years, but ended his prolific high school career with the Buford Wolves this past fall.
While Raiola and the Wolves came short of a 7A state championship, his elite arm talent was on full display all season long.
Raiola played behind a problematic offensive line throughout the season, but he still found a way to sling the ball up and down the field.
The 5-star proved why he’s one of the nation’s best this fall, showing the ability to launch the ball accurately deep down the field. He stands firm in the pocket, but has enough mobility to make occasional plays with his feet. He’s consistently accurate and did a great job of taking care of the football.
On the season, Raiola was 160/253 (.63%) for 2,666 yards and 34 touchdowns with just one INT. Those are impressive numbers considering the gauntlet 7A schedule the Wolves went up against this season.
Against a good North Cobb team, Raiola was outstanding, throwing for 294 yards and three touchdowns. Against Collins Hill, the 5-star threw for 276 yards and four touchdowns. He also threw four touchdowns against Norcross, Wheeler, Central Gwinnett, and Mountain View.
The arm talent was easy to see, and so is the NFL potential. He has the size, arm talent, leadership qualities, and is accurate enough to do big things in Athens if he continues to progress and develop under offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.
Raiola committed to Kirby Smart and the UGA football team on May 15th. He’s ranked as the No. 3 QB prospect and the No. 16 overall prospect in the country for the 2024 class.
