ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the UGA Football have dealt with several injuries so far during fall camp and the first few weeks of the 2023 season.
“We have the longest injury list we’ve ever had since being here,” Smart said on Monday.
That list was extended against South Carolina this past weekend when starting right tackle Amarius Mims went down with an ankle injury in the first half of Georgia’s 24-14 win over the Gamecocks.
Smart updated the media on Mims and several other players on Monday. Here is where many of the injured Bulldogs stand:

Amarius Mims
Mims left the game during the first half against South Carolina. He returned to the sideline in the second half with a boot on his right foot and crutches.
“(Amarius) Mims’ ankle sprain was bad... He’s gonna have to have tightrope surgery on that,” Smart said. “We don’t know how long that will be. He will be back, it's just a matter of how long.”
Smart said that the surgery is similar to what freshman tight end Lawson Luckie had to go through.
Xavier Truss was moved from left to right tackle after the injury, and Dylan Fairchild took over the left guard spot once Mims suffered the injury.
Javon Bullard
Bullard was a game time decision on Saturday with an ankle sprain.
“Javon (Bullard) is day-to-day,” Smart said.
Smart said after Bullard missed the South Carolina matchup that he just did not feel good enough to go during warmups.
Ladd McConkey
“(Ladd) McConkey is more than likely out this week. We’re trying to rest him,” Smart said.
McConkey has not played this season. Georgia has now dealt with their projected top wide reciever being out to start the season in three-straight years.
McConkey’s back injury is something he has dealt with in the past and will now likely keep him out another week.
Kendall Milton
Milton has been dealing with an MCL sprain since fall camp, and he has been limited throughout the first few weeks of the season.
Austin Blaske
Blaske has been out with a knee injury. Kirby Smart expects him back this week.
Roderick Robinson
“Roderick got a high ankle sprain. We’ll find out how he is today,” Smart said.
Robinson’s injury would be another blow to an already limited backfield.
