UGA Football Remains No. 1 In College Football Rankings, Alabama Falls To No. 10

ATHENS - UGA Football is still ranked the top team in college football after another SEC power goes down.
Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs handled business again on Saturday, this time beating Ball State 45-3. Through the first two games of the season, Georgia is outsourcing its opponents 93-10.
Texas traveled to Tuscaloosa this weekend seeking revenge for last season’s loss to the Crimson Tide. Steve Sarkisian’s Longhorns beat Nick Saban and Alabama 34-24, dropping Alabama to No. 10 and shooting Texas up to No. 6 in the AP Poll.
With Alabama’s loss at home, Georgia now has the longest active home winning streak in the country with 20 wins in-a-row at Sanford Stadium.

Heading into 2023, the juggernauts of the SEC were thought to be Georgia, LSU and Alabama, but the two SEC west schools have dropped an early season game to out-of-conference opponents. Last week, LSU stymied in the second half as Jordan Travis helped lead Florida State to a 45-24 win in Orlando.
Michigan, USC, Washington Ohio State and Penn State each won their matchups convincingly this weekend and continue to cement their spots in the top 10.
Georgia finished the week with 55 first place votes. Michigan recieved two and Florida State recieved three.
