ATHENS - Kirby Smart and No. 1 UGA football welcomes Shane Beamer’s South Carolina Gamecocks Between the Hedges. Here is what will happen this weekend... according to the Dawg Post crew.
Tennessee (-7) at Florida | ESPN |7 PM
Matt’s Pick: Neither team had been real impressive, but I think I’m going to take the Gators (+7) in the Swamp. The Vols have a hard time down there and the Gators have some peices coming back. Florida’s defense could give Milton some real trouble.
Ryan’s Pick: I don’t know that Florida is quite as bad as everyone seems to think, but they are not good. The Swamp is a tough place to play and Tennessee has not had much success there. Look, I am lower on Tennessee than the general public is, and I do think that will show to be true at some point, but they are more than a touchdown better than the Gators. I’ll take Tennessee (-7) to cover down there.
Dean’s Pick: Not been in love with the Vols so far this season. Lots of points, but like a lot of teams not named USC, they've taken their time to get those points. Hand me the touchdown, and let's see what the Gators (+7) can do at home with a real opponent. Tennessee hasn't played on the road, and they are the better team. But I'm not sure how much I trust the Vols right now. I know I don't trust the Gators in any way. But if I am getting a touchdown at home in SEC play I will take it.
Georgia Tech (+19.5) at Ole Miss | SECN |7:30 PM
Matt’s Pick: Is Ole Miss good? I think they’re good. Lane Kiffin has them playing well. Nice little tune-up game before their big matchup against the Elephants next week. I’ll take the Rebels (-19.5) here at home. Tech ain’t ready.
Ryan’s Pick: Georgia Tech is on an upward trajectory. That is what the first two weeks have told me. That does not mean they are on a really fast path to being a really good team. I thought that last week was a good win for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels. It would have been a bad loss, and Tulane is better than Georgia Tech. I don’t think the Yellow Jackets will be able to keep up. I think Ole Miss (-19.5) covers at home.
Dean’s Pick: I will take Tech (+19.5) here knowing this is a look-ahead game for the Rebels. The Jackets look better than they have been, but they collapsed week one against Louisville, and had a weather delay in game two. They've not played on the road yet, but I bet Ole Miss will be detracted - having gone to New Orleans to get a ranked win over Tulane - and thinking about slaying Nick Saban and the Tide in a few days.

Colorado State (+23.5) at Colorado | ESPN |10 PM
Matt’s Pick: Rivalry game. Clash of the mountains. That’s a lot of points, but I don’t care. Deion has the Buffs playing well. Maybe I’m nuts, but give me Colorado (-23.5).
Ryan’s Pick: The magic will continue for at least another week for Deion and the Buffs. I cannot wait for that matchup against USC in a couple of weeks
Dean’s Pick: These two are going to throw it all over the place. The Rams and Buffs (what great western school names) are two of the leading passing teams in college ball right now. I don't anticipate this being a close game, but I do think Colorado has too many players on offense. Give me Colorado (-23.5) big at home.
LSU (-9) at State | ESPN |12 PM
Matt’s Pick: This is a tricky one, but I think LSU will find their groove. State barely escaped a bad Arizona team. 11 AM start. I think LSU covers late. Tigers (-9).
Ryan’s Pick: Both of these guys used the word tricky. I don’t think it will be super tricky for LSU (-9) to cover. 72-10 is quite the bounce back from a second half disaster against Florida State (who at this point seems pretty legit). Championship aspirations are still there for the Tigers.
Dean’s Pick: This can be a tricky game for LSU. The Tigers are on the road. They are facing an SEC team. This line isn't at the magical double-digit number that you look for in conference games, but its close. State had to survive Arizona last week in overtime, and we know how I feel about Arizona schools... they are losers. LSU is 5-5 ATS vs. State in the last five games, but actually performs better against the line at State. Give me the Tigers (-9) and that relatively big line. LSU has lost once this century in Starkville (2017).
Northwestern (+20) at Duke | ESPN |7 PM
Matt’s Pick: Northwestern lost to Rutgers by 17 two weeks ago. I can’t forget that. I’ve been on the Duke train early and I’m not getting off. Blue Devils (-20).
Ryan’s Pick: Northwestern is in a terrible spot right now. Not that they were in a good spot before. Duke has some mojo right now. I’ll go with the Blue Devils (-20).
Dean’s Pick: Man, Northwestern is bad. That's all I have to say. Duke has the inside track to the ACC AFTER DARK Championship Game. The Blue Devils (-20) cover the line... easy.
Pitt (-1.5) at West Virginia | ABC |7:30 PM
Matt’s Pick: Pitt’s coming off a tough loss to Cincinatti, but they’ll bounce back. Rivalry game on the road. I think they get it dont. Pitt (-1.5).
Ryan’s Pick: Give me the Mountaineers (+1.5) with the extra points at home. The ghost of JT Daniels should be gone by now.
Dean’s Pick: The Backyard Brawl sure seems like a lot of fun. WVU is reeling general speaking, and now Pitt is as well because of a difficult loss to the Bearcats. It really feels like all three of these teams belong in the Big East or Metro Conference. Give me the road favorite Panthers (-1.5).
Fresno State (-3) at Arizona State | FS1 |10:30 PM
Matt’s Pick: Time for an upset. Two really ugly teams. Give me the Sun Devils (+3).
Ryan’s Pick: Why are we picking this game? Dean wants to ruin our PAC-12 after dark experience by putting something on the line. I am not going to sit here and lie to you guys about knowing a lot about either of these teams. I’ll take Arizona State (+3) at home with the points.
Dean’s Pick: I never take Arizona schools. Can't trust them. The Bulldogs are a road favorite for a reason. Fresno (-3) covers the late-night line.
Southern Cootlumbia (+26.5) at UGA Football | CBS |3:30 PM
Matt’s Pick: Carolina can’t block. They’ve got no run game. I think the ‘Dawgs finally come out hot and look like the No. 1 team in the country. Sanford Stadium will be rocking. Dawgs (-26.5).
Ryan’s Pick: When the South Carolina crosses the border into Georgia, the Gamecocks will notice two things: higher quality roads and higher quality football. I have trouble thinking this will be a close game, and I think that Georgia will look more the part of the top team in the country on Saturday. I think the Bulldogs (-26.5) cover.
Dean’s Pick: This game won't be close. Georgia might not be hitting on all cylinders on offense, but they are on defense. South Carolina is going to have a hard time scoring in this one. Las Vegas sees this game something like 41-13. I think it will be along those lines, but I will take the pile of points that is nearly four touchdowns. UGA is 39-1 as 20-plus point favorites straight up. In the Dawgs' last 30 games ATS vs. foes getting 20-plus points UGA is only 12-17-1. Gimmie the Cocks (+26.5) and the points.
Season ATS
Matt 7-10-2
Ryan 8-9-2
Dean 8-9-2
