ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the UGA Football team will be without running back Branson Robinson for the 2023 season.
That’s what Kirby Smart told reporters on Tuesday.
Robinson ruptured his patellar tendon this week which will keep him out for the entire 2023 season.
This is a massive blow to Georgia’s running back room as Robinson was coming off an impressive freshman season where he rushed 68 times for 330 yards and three touchdowns.
A former 4-star recruit from Mississippi, Robinson rushed for two touchdowns during Georgia’s big 65-7 national championship win over TCU.
With Robinson out for the season, veterans Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton will continue to be the two backs, but guys like Andrew Paul, Roderick Robinson, Cash Jones, among others will now have to step up in the absence of Robinson.
Even with Robinson out, the Bulldogs still have excellent -430 odds to win the SEC East for the third-consecutive season according to FanDuel.
