“I certainly think we have a very talented first group of offensive line and a couple backups,” Kirby told reporters Saturday afternoon.

“We have seven or eight guys who played winning football. I don’t know if we got their best effort. If you were to say, ‘I am going to grade our line over the practices so far then I am going to grade them on this practice,’ I would argue that the practices up to this point have been a little better and a little more dominant than they were today, at least in the run game but maybe not in the pass game. I am pleased with the leadership of both of those groups. I am not pleased with the where we are.”

“I’ve seen them play better,” one insider who was able to watch the scrimmage said. “They didn’t win. The defense won. They really couldn’t run effectively. Edwards looked pretty good… I don’t remember much else sticking out.”

That’s because it was a scrimmage where not a ton stuck out besides Julian Humphrey allegedly vomiting while the scrimmage was going on.

“Julian was a little under the weather,” Kirby told reporters.

Kirby seemed to be fine with the play of Georgia’s quarterbacks, but less happy with players surrounding the trio.

“(The quarterbacks) need ten people around them focusing at a high level and a couple of those ten to make explosive plays for them,” Kirby said, later adding: “The people around them have to play better.”

It depended on who you talked to in terms of so-called drops that happened Saturday. Kirby pointed out that the drops would not go against the signal callers.

According to FanDuel, Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have outstanding -220 odds to make it to the 2023 College Football Playoffs this upcoming season.
