ATHENS - It’s been another bad weekend for the ani-Stetson Bennett crowd.
One of the greatest Georgia Bulldogs in program history, Bennett led the Georgia Bulldogs to two-consecutive national championships before being drafted by the LA Rams in the 4th round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
According to Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay, another peach-state native, Bennett is getting more and more comfortable in the Rams offense with each practice.
“He’s done good,” McVay told reporters after Saturday’s practice. “I thought he had a good day today. I thought the receivers and tight ends, I thought guys made plays for him but he’s pretty steady. You know, what I really like about him is if a play doesn’t go well, he’s able to reset himself and go to the next play. You can definitely feel the athleticism show up that you guys saw on display throughout his career at Georgia and I think he’s getting more and more comfortable.”

“You could see he’s getting more comfortable with just some of the concepts, because it is very different,” McVay added. “Football is still football and when the ball is snapped there are some things that just kind of make sense to him. I think what you said, I think today was his best day, kind of like I mentioned. Those things I think are fair to say.”
Of course, this shouldn’t be too surprising to Georgia fans.
Bennett played better and better throughout his Bulldog career, ending last year with one of the best seasons any Bulldog quarterback has ever had.
Leading Georgia to an undefeated 15-0 season in 2022, Bennett threw for a school record 4,127 yards and 27 passing touchdowns, rushing for 10 more. He was also one of four finalists for the Heisman Trophy.
Another former Bulldog, Matthew Stafford, is leading the Rams at quarterback this year, but it’s clear Bennett is making quite an early impression in fall camp.
With Stafford and Bennett leading the way, the LA Ram’s odds of beating the Seattle Seahawks in week one stand at +5.5 according to FanDuel.

Played in five of 14 games, completing 20 of 27 pass attempts, with two TDs...saw his first action as a Bulldog vs. Murray State...completed nine of 13 passes for 124 yards and 2 TDs...also ran for a touchdown...re-enrolled at UGA in January and participated in Spring drills...completed 12 of 22 passes for 210 yards and a TD in the annual G-Day game, playing for both sides.
2018:
Transferred from Georgia to Jones College in Ellisville, Miss...led Jones to a 10-2 overall record, a Mississippi Bowl win and the MACJC conference championship game...in 12 games, he completed 145 passes for 1,840 yards and 16 TDs while adding 148 yards and four TDs on the ground...ranked 12th nationally in passing yards (NJCAA).
2017:
