ATHENS - As expected, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have lost a commitment from 5-star linebacker, Demarcus Riddick.
Of course, this is no surprise to Dawg Post members as we reported this would happen three months ago. However, at that time, we thought Riddick would flip to Alabama. Instead, the Chilton County (AL) star had flipped from Georgia to Auburn.
Still, we knew a while ago that Riddick would not be in this class, so this news is not surprising.
Riddick originally committed to Georgia back on November 4th of last year, but after taking multiple visits throughout 2023, it was clear Riddick was never truly 100% committed to Glenn Schumann and the Bulldogs.

As talented as Riddick is, sources say the Georgia staff is ecstatic about having No. 1 linebacker Justin Williams on board.
Williams is now the only linebacker on the commit list, and sources say the staff will add one more inside linebacker to join him. Right now, the two linebacker targets to keep an eye on are four-stars Chris Cole and Kristopher Jones. Both are Virginia natives, and Dawg Post feels Georgia sits in an excellent position for both.
Jones has previously told Dawg Post that he wants to make a decision in “late July or early August”. Cole has said that he wants to make a commitment in “late August or early fall.”
Jones is ranked as the No. 11 LB prospect and the No. 129 overall prospect in the 2024 class.
Cole is ranked as the No. 5 LB prospect and the No. 53 overall prospect in the country.
