ATHENS - Kirby Smart, Tray Scott and the Georgia Bulldogs continue to stay hot on the recruiting trail.
To nobody’s surprise.
This time they land a commitment from another massive interior defensive lineman, three-star Nnamdi Ogboko.
At 6-foot-4 335-pounds, the big North Carolina native out of South Garner High School gives Tray Scott another big body who will help clog running lanes for the next several years.
He may not be highly-ranked, but Tray Scott doesn’t care. A North Carolina guy himself, Tray Scott believes in the potential Ogboko brings to the table. Georgia offered Ogboko in early April during a visit and quickly flew up Tray Scott’s board at nose tackle. He had a big spring on the recruiting trail, adding more offers from Michigan State, NC State, Maryland, and Michigan.
The Georgia staff hosted the “Nigerian Nightmare” and his family on an official visit the weekend of June 23rd, and with the green light to jump on board, Ogboko knew he had an easy decision in front of him.
After taking official visits to Florida and South Carolina this month, the big defensive tackle said “no thanks” to both, and now he’s a future Georgia Bulldog.

Tray Scott has done an excellent job of developing his defensive linemen, and one of his best from last season, former 5-star Jalen Carter, was picked No. 10 overall to the Philadelphia Eagles.
With Carter on board, the Eagles have +800 odds to win the Super Bowl next season according to FanDuel.
What are the Bulldogs getting in Nnamdi Ogboko?
Size, strength, and potential.
He may be heavy, but make no mistake, this young man can really move for his size. He holds 330+ pounds extremely well and still has a chance to tranform his body better and better over the next several years.
He’s an impressive athlete for his size. From a physical standpoint, it’s easy to see why he won over Tray Scott and the defensive staff. From a football standpoint, there’s still plenty of room to improve and develop, something the staff loves to see. He’s a blank canvas right now, and if he develops the right way, could be a real bright spot for Georgia’s defensive line down the road.
He’s still raw from a fundamental and technical standpoint, and it might take some time for him to get to the point where he can see the field consistently, but the potential is easy to see.
Two years of being in Georgia’s strength and conditioning program, combined with learning and developing under someone like Tray Scott, don’t be surprised if Ogboko becomes a real impact defender in the middle of the trenches. IF he learns his role, masters his craft, and gives it 100% day in and day out, there’s a chance he could be the biggest steal in Georgia’s class.
Don’t let the low ranking fool you. His ranking will likely rise on every outlet when the final 2024 rankings are released. He’s all potential right now, but the potential is easy to see. He’s big, strong, raw, and has an incredibly high ceiling if he works hard and buys into what coach Scott wants from him.
