ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have landed another big commitment - 2025 Cedartown DB Tae Harris.

The summer commitment is another in a string of commitments this June for the Bulldogs. He is the sixth commitment in Kirby Smart’s Georgia class of 2025. Harris is the fourth commitment this summer that Kirby’s program has taken.

Harris was in Athens not that long ago, and he told Dawg Post that he was motivated to jump on board with the Dawgs after visting UGA.

“I know quite a lot about the program,” he told Dawg Post’s Matt DeBary earlier this month. “I’ve sat in defensive meetings.”

If you play for Cedartown, you have to be tough, and that’s exactly what Harris is. Not only does he bring length and lots of speed in coverage, but he’s a hard-hitter as well. He reads the quarterback, reacts quickly, and knows how to deliver a big blow to the ball-carrier. He has easy D1 size at 6-foot-0 180-pounds and bound for a gigiantic junior season in 2023.

“Georgia is getting a player who loves the game of football”, Cedartown head coach Jamie Abrams told Dawg Post. “He is a true competitor who has had an outstanding off-season which led to him being in this position.

Georgia is coming of back-to-back national titles, and putting a slew of players in the NFL Draft in those years.

“They take everything very seriously at Georgia”, Harris told Dawg Post. “The little things matter. They take pride in what they do. That’s what sets them apart as a program. The campus is great and coaching staff is amazing.”

Kirby’s program has put nine defensive backs into the NFL Draft - including three first rounders.
