ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs hosted plenty of top targets on campus over the weekend, and one of their biggest targets was an important offensive line target from Texas.

We’re talking about four-star interior lineman Casey Poe‍.

A mean, nasty 6-foot-4 300-pounder out of Lindale High School (TX), Poe is the No. 1-ranked interior offensive lineman according to the 2024 On3 Rankings.

Assistant Stacy Searels has two commitments already on the commit list, and it’s clear he’d love to add a versatile lineman like Poe who can dominate in the run game. He’s big, physical, has great lower-body strength, and is a really smart player as well.

Poe does his job consistently, plays with balance, fires off the ball, and blocks until the whistle is blown. He can pull in the run game, block linebackers at the second level, and showed that he’s a reliable pass-protector from the inside as well.

The Georgia Bulldogs have put their name in the “Offensive Line University” conversation after another 1st-round selection in April’s 2023 NFL Draft. Former 5-star Broderick Jones was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 14th overall pick. Jones gives the Steelers -188 odds to make the NFL Playoffs next season according to FanDuel

As for Poe, he’s a major target for Searels in the 2024 class and broke down part of his official visit with Dawg Post.

“My favorite part was just hanging out with the players!” Poe said.  “I really got to see some amazing relationships built at Georgia that people want to say don’t exist. It’s not just a machine, it’s real people loving what they do. The coaching staff are amazing coach’s and even better people. Their history speaks for itself. Both coach Smart and coach Searels have put more people in the league and have had more success than most people would dream of having. And they love their players. They will push them hard, but love them through the entire process.”

Those are some big words from one of the nation’s top offensive linemen. He knows what the Georgia program has done, and he knows all about the elite Bulldog offensive line that has dominated opposing defenses for the last two seasons.

After a very successful official visit to Georgia, Poe has five more scheduled for the rest of the summer.

The big Texas native will take official visits to Clemson (June 2nd), Texas Tech (June 9th), Auburn (June 16), Alabama (June 23rd), and Oklahoma (July 28th).

Right now, sources say the Bulldogs have put themselves in an excellent position in Poe’s current recruitment.

Poe is ranked in the On3 Industry Rankings as the No. 9 interior OL prospect, the No. 28 prospect in Texas, and the No. 154 prospect in the country.
