ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are right around the corner from a MASSIVE several weeks on the recruiting trail.

That’s because in late May and throughout June, the staff will be hosting top targets and commitments on campus for crucial official visits.

While the staff focuses hard on putting together the best 2024 class that they can, offers are still flying out in next year’s 2025 class. The back-to-back national champions recently extended offers to two promising in-state prospects.

As we reported last week, assistant coach Bryan McClendon was in North Georgia to check on the extremely talented Rabun Gap program, and one defender, Onis Konanbanny, saw an offer come his way.

One of the hottest 2025 two-way athletes in Georgia right now, the playmaking sophomore from North Georgia is rightfully seeing his recruitment take off, earned new offers from Georgia and Ohio State.

A natural cover corner with plenty of length at 6-foot-2 170-pounds, Konanbanny played like a lock-down cornerback last year with receiver-like ball skills. His quick, balanced footwork allows him to stay with twitchy, quicker receivers while his length and physicality on the outside allows him to match up with some of the bigger receivers in the area. He brings some toughness to the position and doesn’t shy away from contact. The up and coming 2025 DB plays hard, and when the ball is in the air, he wants to make a play on it. Look for him to rise in the next 2025 rankings and to see more offers to continue coming his way.

Right now, Konanbanny is ranked in the On3 Industry rankings as the No. 22 CB prospect, the No. 24 prospect in Georgia, and the No. 207 prospect in the country for the 2025 class.

He also holds offers from Penn State, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, among others.

Another up and coming defender who earned a Georgia offer is local defensive lineman, Christian Garrett.

A quick, playmaking interior defensive lineman out of Prince Avenue Christian, it didn’t take long for the Georgia staff to evaluate and offer the nearby defender from Bogart.

The 6-foot-4 285-pounder has been flying under the radar for way too long, and his recruitment is finally starting to take off. An easy standout and top performer from last month’s MVP Camp at Milton High School, Garrett has a lean frame with plenty of quickness both off the ball and with his hands. He can shed blocks with ease and he’s coming off a strong sophomore season for the Wolverines where he made 53 tackles, three sacks and five TFLs. He has easy D1 size with a 83-inch wingspan. His best football is still ahead of him and he’s bound for a gigantic junior season this fall. He’s not flying under the radar much anymore, and he could see plenty of other D1 offers come his way over the next several months.

“It’s an amazing feeling to get an offer from the team you been rooting for your whole life”, Garrett told Dawg Post.  “I’ve been following pretty much all my life.”
