ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have lost a commitment from one of the top prospects in Georgia for the 2024 class.

That would be five-star tight end, Landen Thomas‍. This comes as no surprise as Thomas has spent plenty of time in Tallahassee of late, where he has flipped his commitment.

The Seminoles are hitting South Georgia hard, and were able to publicly pull off the flip today from the big pass-catching tight end out of Colquitt County.

This doesn’t happen much to Georgia tight ends coach Todd Harley, but make no mistake, the elite recruiter will fill Thomas’ role in a big way.

New tight end prospects and targets to keep an eye on include 4-star Jaden Reddell (Raymore-Peculiar, OH) and Colton Heinrich (Cardinal Gibbons, FL).

The state of Georgia is loaded with talented tight ends including Caleb Odum (Carrollton), South Carolina commitment Michael Smith (Calvary Day), and Hiram (GA) standout Walter Matthews.

Losing a five-star is never great news, but look for Hartley to attempt to get Thomas back on the commit list down the road. Still, this is a big pickup for the Seminoles as they flip the No.1 TE prospect in the country away from Hartley and “Tight End University”.
