ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs will have one of the top defenders in Georgia in town for a visit.

That would be 4-star EDGE CJ Jackson.

A big-time pass-rusher out of Tucker High School, Jackson is a long, athletic EDGE defender who lived in the backfield last year. An unknown prospect just six months ago, Jackson turned in a terrific junior season last fall and is now one of the top overall pass rushers in the peach-state.

Jackson’s recruitment started to take off towards the end of his junior season and he earned an offer from the Bulldogs back on November 17th. Over the last few weeks, Jackson has taken visits to Texas A&M, Alabama, and LSU. Now, the impressive 6-foot-4 225-pound defender plans to be back in Athens for a mid-week visit on Tuesday.

As a prospect, Jackson is an elite pass-rusher off the EDGE and one of the top overall defenders in Georgia for the 2024 class. He has the length, quickness, and motor that college coaches absolutely love. At 6-foot-4 225-pounds, the Tucker Tiger standout already looks like an SEC outside linebacker with an ideal frame for the position. Not only is he lightning quick off the ball, but his long wingspan allows him to shed blocks from opposing offensive tackles. He gets into the backfield in a hurry, and he knows how to get after the quarterback. He’s so tough to slow down, and if you don’t get rid of the ball quickly, Jackson is going to find the quarterback and make a play.

A promising outside linebacker who can also help stop the run, he can chase the ball-carrier down with ease and gives everything he has until the whistle is blown. It’s easy to see the potential he brings, and it’s led to offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, among others.

Jackson is ranked in the On3 Industry Rankings as the No. 8 EDGE defender and the No. 104 overall prospect in the country.
