ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are down a running back for the remainder of spring practice.

According to a report from DawgsHQ, Georgia’s rising senior back suffered a hamstring injury that will keep him out for the remainder of spring practice. Hamstring injuries usually take several weeks to heal, and sources tell Dawg Post that Milton will likely be ready to go in time for pre-season camp.

This is tough news for Milton who has dealt with injuries throughout his three-year Bulldog career so far.

The Fresno, California native had a successful junior season for the Bulldogs last year, rushing the ball 85 times for 592 yards and 8 touchdowns. He rushed for a touchdown in three of Georgia’s final four games last year, including scores against both Ohio State and TCU in the College Football Playoffs.

The Bulldogs are also without running back Andrew Paul for the spring as he continues to recover from a season-ending injury that he suffered last summer.

The Bulldogs still have veteran Daijun Edwards, sophomore Branson Robinson, and true freshman Roderick Robinson to carry the load this spring.

With running back Kenny McIntosh off to the NFL, Milton is expected to be one of Georgia’s leading rushers next fall as a senior. Unfortunately, he’ll be missing the rest of spring practice.
