ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have been extremely busy over the last several weeks.
Not only are the Bulldogs in the beginning of spring practice, but they’ve also been hosting some of the nation’s top prospects on campus.
One recent visitor was 5-star EDGE, Zion Grady.
An elite defender in the 2025 class out of Charles Henderson High School in Troy, Alabama, Grady is ranked in the 247 Composite Rankings as the No. 1 EDGE prospect and the No. 8 prospect in the country for his class.
An elite pass-rusher with a long, athletic frame at 6-foot-4 220-pounds, Grady was absolutely unblockable last season as a sophomore. He was as productive as any EDGEE defender in his class last fall, making an incredible 108 tackles, 37 TFLs, 22 sacks, 27 QB hurries, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and three blocked kicks.
He’s lighting quick off the snap and sheds blocks with ease, allowing him to live in the backfield on a consistent basis. He flashes easy 5-star ability and will only get better and better over the next two seasons.
He’s an elite prospect, and he had a lot to say to Dawg Post about his recent visit to Georgia.

“My favorite part of the visit was just building the connection with the coaches and watching the intensity of practice. It’s hard not to succeed there.”
A versatile defender who can play outside linebacker or play with his hands in the ground, Grady can make big plays and get after the quarterback from multiple positions. His versatility is a big reason why he’s ranked so high, and sources say it’s something the Georgia staff loves about his game.
“They actually had me with the outside LB”, Grady added. “So I mainly was with coach Diribe and Schumann. They definitely made me feel like a top priority. I also got to watch defensive line and the offense.”
What does Grady like most about coach Schumann and the defensive staff?
“It’s crazy how they both have so much football knowledge to share. I think they are so relatable and interested in helping us get the most out of our visits to help become better players.”
The Bulldogs are sitting in an excellent position for some of the nation’s top DL and EDGE targets across the country in the 2025 class. Other 5-star targets include...
5-star DL Elijah Griffin (Savannah Christian Prep, GA)
5-star EDGE Jared Smith (Spain Park, AL)
5-star EDGE Elyiss Williams (Charlton County, GA)
