ATHENS - The latest AJC poll for the 2018 race to be Governor of Georgia came as a slight surprise to political observers in Georgia and around the country. 

Athens native and GOP candidate Brian Kemp, who scored a resounding win in the Republican primary in the summer, is neck and neck with Democrat Stacy Abrams. Abrams, too, had a huge win in the primary.
