ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are looking to load up on impressive in-state prospects in both the 2024 and 2025 class.

They have one of the top 2025 DLs on the commitment list and it’s high four-star Justus Terry‍. Not only is Terry one of the best in Georgia, but he’s one of the very best across the country in the 2025 class.

At 6-foot-5 275-pounds, Terry is physically put together and a warrior in the weight room. The Manchester (GA) standout said that his goal is to bench-press 400 pounds by the end of the school year.

Terry was in Athens to watch Georgia’s epic beatdown of Tennessee in early November, and sources say the Bulldogs took a commanding lead in his recruitment at that time.

“I just remember how loud that game was”, Terry said. “You couldn’t hear yourself talk. It was lit.”

The Bulldogs would go on to win their second-consecutive national championship two months later, and Terry was in Athens to take in the parade celebration. The versatile defensive lineman said that’s when he knew he wanted to be a Bulldog.

“The biggest reason why I chose Georgia was because it was home”, Terry said. “They’re the home-town school and I’ve always wanted to play there. I knew I wanted to commit when I was at the parade celebration in January. It just felt natural. I was looking at them when they first offered, but after that visit to celebrate the championship, I knew that’s where I wanted to be. That family bond is going to keep me committed.”

What does Terry like most about defensive line coach Tray Scott?

“I like coach Scott’s personality. He keeps it real. He doesn’t put on a show one day and then bee someone else the next day. He’s the same person every time I meet with him. He wants me to play all over the defensive line. I’m an athlete.”

What makes Georgia special?

“The back-to-back national championships were special. The feeling up there is special. The fanbase is special. The brotherhood and connection the players have stood out to me. I wanted to be part of it.”

As a prospect, Terry is a physically imposing defender with a chiseled, muscular frame. He doesn’t look like a sophomore, and neither does his film from the 2022 season. Terry was a bully in the middle of Manchester’s defensive line all season long, shredding blocks with ease and making play after play in the backfield. His quickness off the ball is impressive for his size and he has the ability to blow up any particular play if not double-teamed. He’s tough to knock backwards, making him tough to handle for anyone in one-on-one situations. He looks like a 5-star and played like one during his sophomore season. Dawg Post ranks him as the No. 5 player in Georgia for the 2025 class.
