Georgia Bulldog Commit Peyton Woodyard: "Georgia's a Special Place. It’s Home"

ATHENS - As you know by now, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are starting to put together an incredibly special 2024 class.
The Bulldogs have 8 early commits for next year’s class, and one of their highest-ranked commitments, four-star safety Peyton Woodyard, was back in Athens over the weekend and broke down his visit with Dawg Post.
“My favorite part of the trip was being able to be there for the National Championship celebration!” Woodyard said. “The fans were all welcoming and the coaches all made me feel at home. That fan base is on another level! Can’t help but love the atmosphere! There’s nothing like it!”

“Another favorite part was being able to sit and talk with Coach Kirby in his office with my mom”, Woodyard added. “It was great being able to hang out and talk since my FaceTime with him when I committed. Spending time with all of the coaches this weekend was cool. We finished the trip with breakfast with Coach Fran, Coach Metcalf and Coach Schumann. I love all of those guys!”
“What makes UGA special are the people”. Woodyard continues. “The entire staff, from the coaches, the players, to the recruiting staff, they make you feel at home. It’s a family. The relationships that I’ve built with Coach Fran, Coach Muschamp, Coach Schuman, Coach Metcalf , Coach Kirby and the others get stronger every time we talk and every time we see each other. Georgia is a special place. It’s my home and I’m excited to be a Dawg!”
Which players will Woodyard bee recruiting to Athens now that he’s on board?
“I talk a lot with commitment Jaylen Heyward”, Woodyard said. “We had been talking for a while now, talking about him committing and joining me at Georgia. Dylan Raiola is a great friend. We go back because of baseball. Our families are friends and we talk all the time. I’m recruiting him to come to Georgia with me as well as KJ Bolden and Ellis Robinson. We can build something special together at Georgia. I also want to get my guy Yngstonn Viliamu-Asa there. He’s built for Georgia.”
Woodyard was a long-time Georgia target because making his public commitment to the Bulldogs on January 7th. The 6-foot-2 190-pounder is a hard-hitting safety who covers a lot of ground down the field in coverage. He has thee size, instincts, ball skills, and toughness that should allow him to have a very successful college career in Athens.
He’s ranked as the No. 2 safety prospect, the No. 2 prospect in California and the No. 29 overall prospect in the country for the 2024 class according to the 247 Composite Rankings.
