ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs are going to sign one of the top recruiting classes of ALL TIME in 2024.

Mark it down.

Kirby Smart and his team celebrated their back-to-back national championship in Athens over the weekend and they had some top targets in town to watch it all go down.

One of the biggest prospects in attendance was 5-star EDGE Eddrick Houston‍, who sources say has been a major Bulldog target for well over a year now.

“My favorite part of the visit was hearing all the different people speak highly of Coach Smart and about what he has done as a coach besides win back to back”, Houston said.

The big 6-foot-3 255-pounder was one of the top overall players on a loaded Buford (GA) roster last season. He holds offers from just about every program in the country and has become quite familiar with Smart and the Georgia program so far in his recruitment.

“What makes UGA special is the player to coach relationship” Houston added. “The coaches love their players and the players love the coaches. They show the recruits the same love they show the players. They talk to them and try to get to know them better.”

After winning back-to-back championships, it’s safe to say that the Georgia staff SHOULD be able to hand-pick their 2024 class. The Georgia staff is full of ace recruiters, and having two championship rings to show off will just make things easier on the trail this year.

The Bulldogs are going after the best of the best in the 2024 class, and Houston said he feels like he’s towards the top of Georgia’s defensive line board right now.

“Coach Smart is making me feel like a top priority”, Houston said. “He makes sure everything is good outside of football instead of just burying you with why you should go to Georgia.”

As a player, Houston is a hard-hitting bully who harassed the quarterback all season long. He’s a natural pass rusher who sheds blocks with ease and has a great motor, getting to the ball-carrier in a hurry for someone 260+ pounds. Once he gets home, he knows how to deliver a big hit. He can play on the edge in certain situations, but his frame should allow him to add more mass which should give him a chance to slide inside at defensive tackle at the next level.

He’s been a big-time prospect since his sophomore season and bound for a dominant senior year in 2023.

He’s a BIG deal, and right now sources say that Georgia sits in an excellent position. According to thee 247 Composite Rankings, Houston is ranked as the No. 1 DL prospect, the No. 3 prospect in Georgia, and the No. 8 overall prospect in the country for the 2024 class.
