ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs had a parade in Athens to celebrate the program’s 65-7 win over TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

Georgia Bulldogs QB Stetson Bennett sent a message Saturday during the national championship parade in Athens - Them Dawgs is Hell

Bennett and the Bulldogs wrapped up the 2022 season with a celebration that ended in Sanford Stadium. During the parade to get to the stadium, Bennett and his teammates were paraded down Lumpkin Street.

Bennett was the Bulldogs’ first Heisman Trophy finalist since 1992. Bennett was electric in the Bulldogs’ College Football Playoff games against Ohio State and TCU.

The Bulldogs finished the 2022 season undefeated for the first time since 1980. Georgia’s 65-7 win over TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game was the program’s second in as many seasons.

No program has gone back-to-back as national champions since Alabama reached that accomplishment with Kirby serving as Nick Saban’s defensive coordinator in 2011-12. Georgia’s Stetson Bennett completed his long journey in college football as one of the few signal callers to win the national title as a starter in two seasons.

Bennett’s improbable march to the mountaintop doesn’t match the rest of the Dawgs’ powerful program, which is loaded with five- and high-star recruits who were coveted by nearly every program in the nation.
