Georgia Bulldogs' TE Darnell Washington Has Made His Decision On NFL Future

ATHENS - Georgia Bulldogs and coach Kirby Smart will be without one of their key players on the 2022 national championship team in 2023.
Darnell Washington nannounced that he is forgoing his final season of eligibility to go to the NFL. This is something that a lot of people found coming. Washington is a potential first round pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft.
Washington is one of the freakiest players in college football in recent history, standing at 6’7” and 270 lbs. He is a blend of an offensive tackle and a wide reciever, and his lack of production will likely not keep him from being a top pick.

Over three seasons in Athens, Washington hauled in 45 catches for 774 yards and three touchdowns.
Washington said this in his Instagram post:
“I would like to staert off by thanking God for blessing me with the opportunity to do what I love, for guiding me throughout my football journey and allowing for all of these opportunities to open up for me. To my family, thank you as I attempted to turn my dreams into reality. I will forever be grateful for all the sacrifices made by those around me that gave me the opportunity to play the game of football It is truly a blessing to have each and every one of you in my life. To all of my coaches and support staff that I’ve came accross back home in Las Vegas and during my time in Athens; thank you for always believing in me and giving me the opportunity of a lifetime to attend the University of Georgia. The lessons learned and freindships formed helped build me into the man I am today. To my teammates; I will always carry our experiences, memories and brotherhoods with me. To Dawg Nation; thank you for the consisten support. You are the best in the world, and it was an honor to play in front of you.”
Washington added: “My time in athens has come to an end as I work to pursue my dreams of playing in the NFL. I am excited to announce that I will be declaring for the NFL Draft. Big 0 out.”
