ATLANTA, GA - It felt like 2019 all over again with Georgia and LSU playing for another SEC Championship.
Except this time, is was Georgia throttling LSU and bringing home the SEC title.
Bulldog QB Stetson Bennett gave a Joe Burrow type of performance in Mercedes-Benz today, leading the offense to 50 points in the big win. The senior quarterback was lights out in the first half, going 19/24 for 214 yards and four touchdowns. The made play after play, throw after throw, and took the Bulldogs into the half with a comfortable 35-10 lead.
Of course, that was only the start.
The game was over at the half. Georgia knew it. LSU knew it. Everyone reading this story right now knew it. Still, you have to give credit to LSU for doing everything they could to fight back in this one. They moved the ball on Georgia, made explosive plays both in the passing game, and scored 30 total points. Hell, they even had over 500 total yards on Georgia.
Still, the game was never in doubt. The Tigers had plenty of success throwing the ball, throwing for over 500 yards as a team, but they were never in a position to win the game.
Chris Smith got the scoring started after taking a blocked field goal back 96-yards to the house. Veteran DL Nazir Stackhouse was the one who blocked the kick. Smael Mondon had a key INT that led to a quick 22-yard strike from Bennett to McConkey.
Brock Bowers was Brock Bowers. One of the best players in college football. He ended the day with six catches for 81 yards and a touchdown.
The same can be said for Jalen Carter, who bullied the LSU offensive line over and over.
Did you see the guy pick up Jayden Daniels with one arm? WWE style? He’s an NFL guy right now.

Glenn Schumann’s defense didn’t dominate the way we’ve seen them dominate throughout the season. That will be talked about for the next few weeks. They gave up some big throws down the field, but they only gave up one big run in the ballgame. They tackled well, won the game in the trenches, and made the Tigers work for every yard on the ground.
Kelee Ringo didn’t play his best. The Tigers picked on the junior cornerback often today. However, it’s tough to say any other defender played bad. Jamon Dumas-Johnson flashed but also gave up a long LSU run down the middle of the field.
This was a business trip for Georgia, and business was good today. Maybe not defensively, but it was certainly a great day for the offense They looked like the No. 1 team in country and got off to a big start that ended the game before the half. I mean, when you score 50 points, that’s saying something.
Stetson Bennett was outstanding. He plays really well indoors and had some “wow” throws out there today. He finished the game 23/29 for 274 yards and four touchdowns.
Kenny McIntosh scored twice, adding 55 rushing yards in the process. Kendall Milton ran hard, leading the team with 113 rushing yards. Daijun Edwards added 77 more yards on the ground. The offensive line played outstanding once again.
This was a complete win. The defense needs to clean things up, but they won the game by 20 points. They were elite today, and they’ll be tough to beat for anyone inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
