ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs are set to tee it up against the Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers in 2022 SEC Championship Game.

No. 1 Georgia was a favorite against Alabama a season ago in the SECCG. This year the Bulldogs are a considerable favorite to win the program’s 14th SEC Championship.

The Bulldogs were listed as 15.5-point favorites over the Tigers on Saturday. After the Tigers’ loss at Texas A&M the line moved to 19.5. UGA has never been a double-digit favorite to win the SEC Championship Game. Before this year, the largest line the Bulldogs ever had to cover what the 9-point line over Arkansas in 2002.

LSU was a 3-point favorite over UGA in 2003. In 2005, the Bulldogs were 2-point underdogs in Atlanta to the Tigers. LSU was a 12-point favorite over Georgia in 2011. Alabama was a 9-point favorite in 2012. UGA was a slight 2-point favorite over Auburn in 2017. A year later the Tide was considered a massive 12-point favorite to beat Georgia. In 2019, Joe Burrow and LSU were a touchdown favorite to beat the Dawgs. UGA was a 6-point favorite to beat Alabama last year.

The game will be broadcast on CBS and will kickoff at 4 PM. No. 1 Georgia and LSU were both in action this weekend.

The significant line shows how much betters think of the No. 1 Dawgs. Georgia has not entered a game this season without being a double-digit favorite. Georgia’s win over Tennessee in Athens crept over the ten-point mark just before kickoff.

Georgia is 22-2 straight up as a 13- to 16-point favorite since 2010. LSU is 2-8 overall as a 13- to 16-point underdog since 1995 history - beating Florida in 1997 and Alabama earlier this year.
