ATHENS - When you think of the Georgia Bulldogs, you think of a high-powered rushing attack.

Even without James Cook and Zamir White, Kirby Smart’s crew has had no problem running the football this year as they’re currently averaging 202 rushing yards per game. That’s good for 23rd in the country and 4th best in the SEC.

The Bulldogs rushed for 239 yards against the Gators and ran for 292 yards against Auburn. When they NEED to run the football, they’ve been extremely effective, rushing for 5.65 yards per carry this season.

Of course, there’s a good chance the Bulldogs will have to win a shootout against Tennessee who brings in the nation’s No. 1 offense into Athens. Yes, Stetson Bennett will have to make some big throws, but if Georgia wants to win this ballgame, they’ll have to run the ball effectively, work the clock, and limit Tennessee’s possessions.

That won’t be easy, though. The Vols have given up plenty of passing yards this year, but they’ve been stout against the run, giving up just under 93 rushing yards per game, which is 2nd in the SEC behind Georgia.

It’s not easy to run the ball on Tennessee, but Georgia should be up to the task. Daijun Edwards and Kenny McIntosh have been playing great recently and have been breaking tackles left and right. Running behind an offensive line opening up a lot of holes, the backs need another big game on Saturday.

As good as Georgia’s defense has been, facing Tennessee’s offense won’t be easy. Hendon Hooker will test Georgia’s secondary and the Vols will do their best to light up the scoreboard. That doesn’t mean Georgia has to play the same ballgame.

Run the ball effectively. Win the field possession battle, control the clock, and keep Tennessee’s offense off the field. That’s how Georgia can win this game. If Georgia’s rushing attack can wear down Tennessee’s defense, especially in the 2nd half, you have to like Georgia’s chances.

Hendon Hooker is playing like the best quarterback in the country and Stetson Bennett has also shown he can win games with is arm. In the end, this will still be a line of scrimmage game. Whoever runs the ball more effectively has a great chance of winning on Saturday, and that’s where Georgia has the edge.
