Georgia Bulldogs Set Multiple Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game Records

ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs dominated the Chick-Fil-A kickoff game against Oregon on Saturday evening, winning their season-opener 49-3 in front of a massive Bulldog fanbase in Atlanta.
Here’s what the Bulldogs accomplished during their big win over Oregon...
SECond to None:
•With Georgia’s win, the SEC now holds a 16-2 all-time record in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game while the Pac-12 falls to 0-2.
•SEC teams have now won 12-consecutive Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games they’ve appeared in.
•The SEC remains undefeated against the Pac-12 in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game with a 2-0 record (Auburn beat Washington
21-16 to open the 2018 season).
•The Bulldogs increase their all-time record vs. current Pac-12 schools to 12-5-1, while the Ducks now hold a 4-7 mark against
current SEC programs.
•Georgia now increases its series record vs. Oregon to 2-0 after having also defeated the Ducks 27-16 in 1977.
Perfection:
• Defending National Champions now improve to 3-0 in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game with Georgia’s win (Alabama defeated
Virginia Tech 35-10 in 2013 and Miami 44-13 in 2021).
• Kirby Smart also remains unbeaten in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game with a perfect 2-0 mark after previously beating North
Carolina 33-24 in 2016 during his head coaching debut.
• Under Smart, the Bulldogs now hold a perfect 7-0 record in season openers.
• Lucky number seven- Georgia scored seven touchdowns on its first seven possessions.
Season-Opener Success:
• Georgia is now 99-27-3 overall in season openers, including a 2-1 mark in Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games. The Bulldogs have won
their last nine season-openers dating back to 2014. Meanwhile, the Ducks fall to 90-33-4 record all-time in season openers,
but have still won nine of their last 11 contests to open the season.
Full House:
• Today’s attendance of 76,490 is a new Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game record. It breaks the previous record of 76,330 set by the
2017 Florida State-Alabama game.
• With today’s sellout, the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game has now sold out 14 of 18 games since its creation in 2008.
