The Bulldogs are listed as significant favorites to win the game (UGA -17). The 17.5-point line means the Bulldogs have around a 94% chance of winning the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game. The two programs have only met once before in history - a 27-16 home for the Bulldogs in 1977’s season opener in Athens.

The over/under is set at 51.5 points.

The line is the third largest for the Bulldogs against a power-five team since 1993. Only the opener at Vanderbilt in 2019 (UGA -22.5) and at Arkansas in 2020 (UGA -28) stand as larger lines in major openers. Georgia has lost only seven season openers in the last 40 years.

Since 2011, Georgia is 52-1 straight up in games where the program is at least a 16.5-point favorite (2019 South Carolina).

Oregon will be making its first-ever appearance in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, and will be the second Pac-12 team to play in the game.

Bulldogs’ fourth scheduled appearance in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game. Georgia previously fell 35-21 to Boise State in 2011 and defeated North Carolina 33-24 in the 2016 contest during Kirby Smart’s debut as head coach.

The Bulldogs were supposed to face Virginia to open the 2020 season in Atlanta. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of that contest.

The matchup with the Ducks marks the first of four non-conference games in 2022. Georgia plays host to Samford for its home opener on Sept. 10. The Bulldogs will be matched up against Kent State two weeks later. Georgia completes its regular sea- son versus the Yellow Jackets in Sanford Stadium on Nov. 26.

The Bulldogs’ first SEC contest will be at South Carolina on Sept. 17. The first league opponent coming to Athens will be Auburn on Oct. 8
