Top Georgia Bulldog OL Target Sets Commitment Date

ATHENS - The 2022 season is just a week away, but Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs, recruiting never stops.
The Bulldogs have 18 current commitments in the 2023 class and they’re looking to add another one on Monday, August 29th.
A top Georgia target on the offensive line, four-star offensive tackle, Monroe Freeling, has announced that he will be making his commitment on Monday.
The top-ranked prospect in South Carolina, Freeling is a long, lean, athletic tackle at 6-foot-7285-pounds who took a visit to Georgia in late July.
“We had a great time at UGA this past weekend”, one close source told Dawg Post about Freeling’s visit. “There was a strong sense of connection among the players who obviously work really hard but also can come together as a family and have a good time.”
Offensive line coach Stacy Searels has made Freeling a top priority since arriving in Athens and has built a strong relationship with the impressive tackle and his family.
“Coach Searels recruited Monroe when he was at UNC”, another source said. “He encouraged Monroe to come up to a camp in July 2021. From there, Monroe became Coach Searles’ top priority. He was the first Coach to show up at Monroe’s 8am basketball practice following the dead period in January. He continued to recruit Monroe once he moved over to UGA.”
“What I like about Stacy Searels is his commitment to the process of recruitment”, the source continued. “He has continued to build a relationship with him that I believe is genuine and sincere. After talking more in depth with Coach Smart, it is evident that he is confident in what Searels brings with experience and expertise. Lets also not forget Coach Eddie Gordon who has been a huge part of consistently recruiting Monroe.”
The entire staff had made Freeling a priority in this class, and that’s why right now, Dawg Post believes the Bulldogs are in the driver’s seat to land the big tackle out of Oceanside Collegiate Academy (SC).
