ATHENS - Expectations are high for the Georgia Bulldog offense this season.

Everyone knows Stetson Bennett’s story. Coming off a magical 2021 national championship season, the seasoned veteran looks to lead the Bulldogs to another championship run this fall.

Kirby Smart hired Todd Hartley to build the best tight end room in the country, and that’s exactly what’s happened. Everyone knows what Brock Bowers can do, and the addition of Arik Gilbert gives the Bulldogs another weapon in the passing game.

AD Mitchell has become a household name in college football after last year’s national championship game. Receiver Ladd McConkey has also proved to be one of the more reliable, explosive receivers in the SEC coming into this season.

But for some reason, Dominick Blaylock isn’t getting the respect he deserves.

Yes, the veteran receiver is coming off two major knee injuries. He didn’t catch a single pass during the 2020 season but did come in towards the end of last year, catching two passes against Charleston Southern.

But make no mistake, if Dom Blaylock is 100% healthy, he’s capable on making plays. I’ve seen him DOMINATE at the high school level, taking over 7A games as a freshman. I’ve seen his playmaking ability in-person for close to eight years now. The former four-star prospect out of Walton (GA) had an excellent freshman season in 2019, catching 18 passes for 310 yards and five touchdowns.

The guy hasn’t forgotten how to play, and Georgia fans shouldn’t forget about the silky-smooth wideout this fall. Yes, the Bulldogs have plenty of weapons on offense, but in his fourth year in the program, look for Blaylock to have a big comeback season in 2022.

Don’t forget, Blaylock looked great in Georgia’s G-Day scrimmage back in April, catching five passes for 67 yards. According to Dawg Post insider Ryan Kerley, Blaylock is running with the 2nd-team unit at the moment, which is to be expected.

Can he rise more and more on the depth chart? It won’t be easy, but he has the talent to do so. He may not light up the stat sheet this year, but when the ball comes his way this fall, expect good things to happen.
