ATHENS - Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs spent Sunday afternoon in the heat.
Weather conditions well into the 90s were on full display as the Dawgs barrel towards their season-opening fight with Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks. Here is what we saw as Sunday afternoon:
At running back the rotation for one drill (and too much should not be made of the rotation of any one drill) was:
Kendall Milton
Kenny McIntosh
Daijun Edwards
Andrew Paul
Branson Robinson
Milton and Robinson are similar sizes in terms of their weight. Those two certainly appear to be the bruisers of the bunch.

At safety the rotation of multiple individual drills was:
Dan Jackson
David Daniel-Sisavanh
Christopher Smith
William Poole
Tykee Smith
Javon Bullard
Jacorey Thomas
Malaki Starks
On Starks - you can see why he has the potential to be a very good player. In the limited time I saw him Tykee Smith flashed to me, but we are talking about one rep, so that should be taken with a grain of salt.
The rotation at tight ends during individual drills was:
Brock Bowers
Ryland Goede
Darnell Washington
Brett Seither
Arik Gilbert
Oscar Delp
That’s a heck of a group there. It is hard to see Washington and not think of the damage he could case in the near future. Kirby has talked a lot about this group being healthy. If it is folks need to look out.
During quarterback drills the four scholarship signal callers threw to four receivers during a rotation. Then Stetson Bennett and Carson Beck threw to four players who were going out; then Brock Vandagriff and Gunner Stockton threw to four.
The rotation of the receivers in the four-out receiver drills was:
Brock Bowers with Ladd McConkey, Adonai Mitchell and Kearis Jackson
Arik Gilbert with Dominick Blaylock, Jackson Meeks and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Darnell Washington with Mekhi Mews, Arian Smith and Dillon Bell
Oscar Delp went with another rotation as we were leaving practice.
This was another fast-paced individual section of practice. Todd Hartley was very much on Arik Gilbert. It sounded like Kirby Smart was on the offensive line, but he was a was away from me during the time I heard him. Will Muschamp was coaching Malaki Starks as well.
