ATHENS - The month of June continues to be a big one for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.
The staff has been hosting camps all week and multiple top targets have made their way over to the Classic City this month.
The Bulldogs will be hosting another top target today in 5-star ATH Samuel M'Pemba.
The elite athlete out of IMG Academy (FL) is originally from Missouri and has turned into one of the top overall prospects in the 2023 class. The 6-foot-4 240-pounder is a long, athletic pass rusher who is only scratching the surface of his potential. He played primarily receiver last year for IMG Academy, but he’s expected to be a pass-rushing EDGE defender at the next level.
The Bulldogs had M’Pemba on campus back in April for Georgia’s G-Day scrimmage, and they’ll have a chance to climb his list of schools with a successful unofficial visit today. The Bulldogs are recruiting some of the nations’ best EDGE defenders already, but look for them to push hard for M’Pemba in hopes of securing an official visit later this fall.
Bulldog outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe already has one EDGE defender on board in 4-star Gabriel Harris, and he’s also pushing hard for 5-star Jaquavious Russaw, 5-star Jayden Wayne, and 4-star Damon Wilson.
As for M’Pemba, he’s ranked as the No. 3 EDGE defender in the country due to his length, explosiveness, and overall potential as a dynamic pass rusher. He’s a tremendous athlete, and he’s a major target for teams like Miami, Oregon, Notre Dame, Alabama, and many more.
Sources say the Bulldogs have a real shot here, but with most of his official visits coming later this fall, there’s plenty of time for Georgia to win him over down the road.
