Two former 5-Star Georgia Bulldogs in NCAA Transfer Portal
ATHENS - Two former Georgia Bulldogs who were five-star prospects have entered the portal.
Amarius Mims and Clay Webb, who were both five-star prospects before signing with Georgia in the last few years, have both placed their names in the NCAA’s transfer portal. Mims has not been at the last two practices for the Dawgs, insiders told Dawg Post. The Athens Banner-Herald confirmed the new regarding the two prospects.
Neither player played significant snaps during their time in Silver Britches. Georgia’s annual spring game will kick off this Saturday in Athens. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 1 PM.
Georgia’s offensive line has been a competitive place this spring. Former 5-star prospect Broderick Jones has pushed himself to the starting group this spring at left tackle, which is one of the spots that isn’t occupied by a returning starter. Mims has not been able to get in front of Jones or returning starting right tackle Warren McClendon.
Meanwhile, Webb, who was considered a center prospect hasn’t been able to move is way into the starting rotation at center in front of Sedrick Van Pran, who started at that spot in 2021, or in front of either guard.
The Bulldogs have a new offensive line coach this season with the addition of Stacy Searels after Matt Luke stepped away from football.
