ATHENS - As we wrote about earlier this week, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are hosting elite prospects on campus throughout this week and into the weekend.
We reported that 5-star QB Arch Manning will be in Athens for a visit on Friday, but the Bulldogs will be hosting another 5-star QB on Thursday in 2024 gunslinger, Dylan Raiola.
The Chandler (AZ) star is the son of former Detroit Lion, Dominic Raiola, who played with former Bulldog Matthew Stafford in Detroit. The younger Raiola told Dawg Post last summer that he’s very familiar with the Georgia football program and still calls Stafford, “Uncle Matthew”.
One of the top 2024 QBs in the country, Raiola has great size at 6-foot-3 210-pounds and looks to have NFL arm talent down the road. He has elite arm strength, he’s mobile, and he’s a big Bulldog target.
Raiola is visiting Clemson on Wednesday before visiting Georgia on Thursday, March 17th. As a sophomore last season for Burleson (TX), the 5-star threw for 3,341 yards and 32 touchdowns.
Another big-time visitor on Thursday is 4-star offensive tackle, Olaus Alinen. The Loomis Chaffee School (CT) tackle from Finland is a massive prospect at 6-foot-6 315-pounds who has become one of the hottest 2023 prospects in the Northeast. Top programs like Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State are coming strong due to his size, strength, and overall potential. He will only get better as he develops, so his sky-high potential could see him continue to climb the 2023 rankings over time.
Another 5-star target in town is elite WR/DB KJ Bolden. A dynamic playmaker with speed and explosiveness, Bolden has size and length at 6-foot-1 185-pounds who knows how to take off with the ball. He’s an excellent route runner, but his explosiveness and game-changing ability with the ball in his hands makes him an elite prospect in the 2024 class. Dawg Post ranks Bolden as the No. 2 prospect in Georgia for the 2024 class.
A third 5-star prospect who will be in town is in-state offensive tackle Daniel Calhoun. The massive 6-foot-5 330-pounder out of Centennial (GA) is one of the top 2024 OL prospects in the country and the Bulldogs were one of the first teams to offer the big Roswell native. He moves well for his size and still getting better and better. He can protect the passer and help dominate in the run game. He looks the part and coming off a big sophomore season. Look for him to be a big target early on in the 2024 class.
