After multiple Georgia Bulldogs dominated the 2022 NFL Draft last weekend, it’s safe to assume that plenty of defenders will hear their name called early on day one.

One of the biggest winners on the combine, EDGE defender Travon Walker‍, could end up being a top 5 pick after running an official 4.51 40-yard dash at 6-foot-5 272 pounds and completing the 3-cone drill in an incredible 6.89 seconds.

One NFL Draft expert, NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, has Walker being selected No. 3 overall to the Houston Texas in his latest mock draft. That would make Walker the first defender off the board in the draft. Walker is a consensus 1st-round pick, but after a great showing at the combine, look for more teams to move Walker higher and higher on their board. The Texans are one of the worst teams in the NFL at the moment, and have +8000 odds to win the AFC next fall according to FanDuel.

Of course, Walker isn’t the only Bulldog defender that Zierlein has in the 1st round. He mocks massive DT Jordan Davis, another combine winner, to the Los Angeles Chargers with the 20th pick. Davis turned heads with his outstanding 4.78 40-yard dash time at 6-foot-6 and 341-pounds.

Zierlein has a Bulldog linebacker being selected towards the end of the first round, but it’s not the player most would expect. The NFL Draft analyst has the Dolphins taking linebacker Quay Walker with the 29th pick.

His final Bulldog in the first round is defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt, one of the top performing DL prospects in the Combine. Zierlein has Wyatt mocked to the Kansas City Chiefs with the 30th overall pick.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to take Zierlein’s mock draft seriously as he left out linebacker Nakobe Dean in the 1st round. He has both Walker and Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd ahead of the Butkus Award Winner, who was clearly the best linebacker in college football last season.
