ATHENS - The mailman will deliver in Silver Britches next year.
Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett announced on Wednesday that he will return for another season of football in Athens. He started his college career in 2017 with the Bulldogs as a walk-on quarterback.
This year Bennett started the UAB game before becoming entrenched as the starting quarterback from the Arkansas game on. After the dominating win over the Hogs, Bennett guided the Dawgs the rest of the way to an undefeated regular season, and eventually winning the Orange Bowl and National Championship Game.
The win is the Dawgs’ first national championship since 1980.
Bennett ended 2021 with 2,862 yards, 29 touchdowns, seven interceptions passing and 259 yards rushing. He is 14-3 as a starting quarterback at Georgia.
The Bulldogs are set to open the season in Atlanta against Oregon on September 3rd. The Ducks are now led by former Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Lanning.
Now you can own this commemorative keep-sake hardcover book to remember the season. DAWGSTRUCTION will ship in late February/early March.
