Georgia Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart is at it again - flying around the state in a helicopter to recruit high school football players.
The national championship-winning coach made a splash at UGA in 2016 when he took over the job by traveling by chopper to visit high school recruits. That steady work and travel mode paid off with a string of successful seasons that included wins in the Rose Bowl Game, the Sugar Bowl, the Peach Bowl, the Orange Bowl and the 2022 National Championship Game.
Friday is the first day coaches are permitted to recruit in person according to NCAA bylaws.
Smart, in his new and improved red and black helicopter, stopped by power programs such as Buford, North Gwinnett, Grayson and Johns Creek on Friday, the first day that college coaches can hit the road on recruiting trips.
The North Gwinnett Bulldogs have 2023 DL target Kayden McDonald (19 sacks in 2021) and 2023 UGA legacy linebacker Grant Godfrey on the roster.
The Buford Wolves are loaded with talent and have multiple prospects with a Georgia offer. Elite 2024 WR KJ Bolden and TE/DE Eddrick Houston.
The Rams have 2023 DB target Michael Daugherty, 2024 OL Waltclaire Flynn Jr. and 2024 ATH Jojo Stone.
Smart also stopped by Johns Creek to check on the Gladiators. Johns Creek is home to elite 2024 DE TA Cunningham.
Georgia tight ends coach Todd Hartley stopped by Colquitt County (GA) on Friday morning to check on elite 2024 TE target Landen Thomas.
Running backs coach Dell McGee, a legend in West Georgia, stopped by Troup County (GA) today and extended an offer to 2024 DB Noah Dixon.
The Bulldogs are poised to haul in yet another consensus top-three recruiting class this cycle. Georgia’s 2022 class is headlined by quarterback Gunner Stockton and defenders Malaki Starks, Jaheim Singletary, Marvin Jones Jr., Mykel Williams and Daylen Everette.
