A group of Georgia Bulldogs cheered on their starting quarterback after the 34-11 win over the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines.

Bennett went 21 of 31 throwing for 310 yards with three touchdowns. He ran three times for 32 yards. Bennett was named the Orange Bowl’s Most Valuable Player after the game. The decisive win over Michigan put the Bulldogs in the national championship game for the first time since the 2017 season. 

Bennett's story is an unlikely one - a former walk-on player at Georgia, he earned a scholarship after going to junior college and returning to Georgia for the 2019 season. Bennett is one of the few players on the Bulldogs' roster to prepare for a national title game (Julian Rochester; Derion Kendrick). 

The No. 3 Bulldogs are considered 3-point favorites by FanDuel to beat No. 1 Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in Indianapolis on Monday, January 10, 2022. The game is being broadcast by ESPN.
