AP Ranks UGA No. 3 to start 2018 Season

ATHENS - Georgia will begin the season as the No. 3 team in the country.

The Associated Press released its preseason poll Monday afternoon, and the Bulldogs checked in at No. 3 behind No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Clemson. The Big Ten’s Wisconsin and Ohio State checked in at No. 4 and No. 5.

This is the highest the Bulldogs have been ranked to start a season since 2008, when UGA was ranked No. 1.

Georgia will face No. 9 Auburn on November 10 in Athens. Florida and South Carolina both finished just outside the rankings. Kentucky received one vote for the No. 25 team, but, like the Gators and Gamecocks, did not earn enough votes to be ranked in the first edition of the poll.
