Kirby Smart continues to own Dan Mullen.
The No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs defeated Mullen’s Gators on the field last month, and now Smart is beating Mullen once again.
This time, on the recruiting trail.
After seeing Florida’s current meltdown, four-star 2023 Raymond Cottrell has decided to flip from Florida to Georgia, giving the Bulldogs another big-time commitment in the 2023 class. This was a major blow to the Gators as Cottrell was an in-state playmaker who was excited to jump on board back in the summer.

Cottrell has been committed to the Gators since late July, but after giving it some thought, the Milton (FL) standout decided he’d rather travel up north to play for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs.
At 6-foot-2 205-pounds, Cottrell is a sure-handed possession receiver with a long stride. He picks up yards in a hurry and can be a consistent downfield threat. He’s a smooth runner, a fluid rout-runner, and has big, strong hands to go with it. He’s tough to bring down after the catch, but his 2nd-gear for someone over 200+ pounds really stands out. He’s one of the top receiver prospects in Florida for a reason. Just s junior, it’s easy to see his upside potential.
Cottrell gives Georgia six commitments in the 2023 class, joining 4-star CB Marcus Washington, 4-star OL Bo Hughley, 4-star TE Pearce Spurlin, 4-star WR Daquayvious Sorey, 4-star CB Kayin Lee and 4-star DT Seven Cloud. Cottrell now gives the Bulldogs three 2023 commitments from the sunshine state and he gives receivers coach Cortez Hankton his second WR commitment in next year’s class.
Cottrell is ranked as the No. 12 wide receiver, the No. 18 player in Florida and the No. 85 overall prospect in the 2023 class.
