Georgia Bulldogs Open as Big Favorites to Beat Tennessee Vols

ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs are considerable favorites to win in the Athens against the Tennessee Vols.

Bookmakers opened with Georgia as a considerable 22-point favorite on FanDuel to beat the Vols in Knoxville. 

While considerable, the line does not guarantee success for the Bulldogs. That line indicates the Bulldogs have around an 97% chance to win the contest. Georgia has been a two-touchdown favorite or more 62 times since the 2010 season. They are 60-2 in those contests straight up (2016 Vanderbilt, +14;  2019 South Carolina, +21). 

Georgia will travel to Knoxville trying to go undefeated in league play for the first time since 1982. No. 1 The Bulldogs are 9-0 for the second time in the Smart era, the other time coming in 2017. 

This is the third time in the last four years that Georgia is considered at least a 20-point favorite over the Vols. Georgia was a 24.5-point favorite to beat the Vols in Knoxville in 2019 and came away with a 43-14 win. In 2018, No. 2 Georgia beat Tennessee 38-12.
