Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs remain the No. 1 team in the country and they’re trying to push for the No. 1 recruiting class as well.

The Georgia staff just went down to the sunshine state and landed a commitment from one of the top players in the country.

5-star DB Jaheim Singletary‍.

The elite cornerback from jacksonville is a former Ohio State commitment who chose the Bulldogs this time over the in-state Florida Gators and many more.

What will Singletary bring to Athens?

Length and ball skills.

At 6-foot-2 170-pounds, Singletary has enough size and legnth for Kirby Smart’s secondary with wide receiver-like ball skills. He’s an excellent option at receiver, but his length, instincts, and natural ball skills have him ranked as the No. 5 CB prospect in the country.

He shows great footwork in coverage and closes well when the ball is in the air. He has enough speed to stick with faster, smaller receivers and has enough length to stay with bigger receivers on the outside. He’s great with the ball in the air, and more often than not, he’s coming down with it.

Another trait that makes him elite is his hands. He’s a wide reccover playing defensive back and that’s where his future is. He has soft hands and knows how to climb the ladder and catch the ball at it’s highest point.

Singletary just has a natural ability to make plays. If you combine his legnth and overall ball skills, it’s easy to see why the Georgia staff pushed so hard for his commitment.

Where do the Bulldogs go from here?

The Bulldogs now have 23 current commitments and five DB commitments, joining 5-star safety Malaki Starks‍, 4-star safety JaCorey Thomas‍, 4-star CB Julian Humphrey‍ and 4-star CB Marquis Groves-Killebrew‍ ‍.

They now have three CBs and two Safety prospects on the commit list with room for likely one more.

5-star DB Kamari Wilson‍ is another safety prospect to know and he appears to be the top remaining DB target on Georgia’s board.
