ATHENS - For the second time this season the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs will be featured on ESPN’s College Gameday program.
The Bulldogs are coming off of a 62-0 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday. Gameday previously broadcast from Charlotte for the No. 5 Bulldogs’ season-opening 10-3 win over No. 3 Clemson. Georgia is 9-17 all time in so-called Gameday contests. The Bulldogs are 3-2 in those contests in Athens.
Georgia defeated Arkansas in the season-opening game of 2020, but it took some time for the Bulldogs to get going. That happened when Stetson Bennett was inserted into the game, and the Bulldogs ran away with a 37-10 win in Fayetteville. The last time Arkansas visited Athens, the Hogs’ Ryan Mallett tossed a 40-yard touchdown to Greg Childs with only 15 seconds left in the game to give No. 12 Arkansas a 31-24 win in Athens.
The Bulldogs and Hogs have played well collectively this season. Georgia has looked dominant through four games - allowing one touchdown in 16 quarters of football on defense. Arkansas has whipped only foes Texas (40-21) and Texas A&M (20-10) on the way to being ranked for the first time in years.
