ATHENS - It was a picture-perfect night in Sanford Stadium as Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are handling the South Carolina Gamecocks with ease as they entered the 4th quarter.
In a packed Sanford Stadium, Georgia fans couldn’t wait to get their cell phones out and “Light Up Sanford” before the 4th quarter, continuing one of the best new traditions across college football.
As far as the game goes, the Bulldogs started a healthy J.T Daniels and he looks as healthy as ever. The Bulldogs have preached about “explosive plays” ever since the Clemson game, and they were able to hit some big plays down the field thanks to Daniels.
The Bulldogs got off to a great start but shot themselves in the foot a little in the 2nd half, with Stetson Bennett throwing a bad interception on his only attempt of the game. The Bulldog defense has also given up multiple big passing plays, something that we haven’t seen from that unit all season.
It’s been a breakout game so far for freshman Adonai Mitchell who scored his first touchdown of his career after catching a 38-yard bomb from Daniels in the 2nd quarter.
The Bulldogs took a 26-6 lead into the half after a late safety by the defense and a great 2-minute drive led by Daniels. Kicker Jack Podlesny connected on a 36-yard field goal on the last play of the first half to give Georgia a 20-point lead.
