ATHENS - Following the 10-3 win over the No. 3 Clemson Tigers Saturday night in Charlotte, the Georgia Bulldogs are a heavy home favorite over UAB.
FanDuel lists the Bulldogs as a near four-touchdown favorite over the Blazers in the first full-capacity home game for the Dawgs since November 23, 2019. No. 4 Georgia beat Texas A&M 19-13 that day.
The point spread indicates the Bulldogs should have north of a 90% chance to win the ballgame. There have been a slew of major upsets to start the season, but a loss for the Bulldogs to the Blazers would be shocking.
The Bulldogs managed to cover and outright beat Clemson Saturday night. The game was one of the few contests Georgia has entered as an underdog to a non-SEC foe. Georgia has won all of those games.
The Dawgs also made under betters very happy - not scoring a touchdown on offense, and preventing Clemson from the same. Georgia’s game with UAB is set to kickoff around 3:30 in Athens. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
The game should showcase Georgia’s stifling defense, which held No. 3 Clemson to three points on 60 plays and 180 yards as the Bulldogs tallied seven sacks. The Tigers had a streak of 400 yards of total offense in their past 12 games. The seven sacks was only one shy of the Bulldogs’ school record, which was set in the win over Cincinnati in the 2021 Peach Bowl in Atlanta.
