September could be a big month for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs on the recruiting trail as multiple top prospects plan to make their commitments.

One of three-star EDGE defender Carlton Madden‍ who announced that he will make his commitment on September 18th.

The big 6-foot-4 240-pound EDGE defender shot up Georgia’s board this summer after an earning an offer from the Bulldogs in mid-June. He’s long, athletic, and certainly passes the eye test for a D1 linebacker.

Madden has been in Athens multiple times this summer and broke down his interest in Georgia with Dawg Post.

“The first time I went out to Georgia was in June for a workout”, Madden told Dawg Post. “The second time I came back was when they offered me. I was with my family and we were all excited. It was a blessing.”

Since being offered, Madden said he’s started to build a strong bond from the staff in Athens. He’s made quite a few trips to the Classic city in the last two months.

“I think I’ve been to Georgia about four or five times this summer”, Madden told Dawg Post. “Every time I go up to Athens there’s just nothing but love. I feel love from Coach Lanning and all the recruiters out there. There’s nothing but love.”

Madden admitted that he has a close relationship with defensive coordinator Dan Lanning who already has a specific position laid out for Madden if he were to commit and sign with the Bulldogs.

“I could fit in well with their defense because I can play both inside and outside”, the Cedar Grove standout said. “They want me to play the JACK position because they like the way I move with my size.”

Madden will choose from his “Top 6” that includes Georgia, Auburn, Oregon, Colorado, Tennessee and Ole Miss. Right now, Dawg Post believes Georgia is the clear front-runner in his recruitment.
