CUMMING - High school football is back in the peach state and one of the first games of the season featured a major Georgia Bulldog target in the 2022 class.

4-star TE Oscar Delp‍ of West Forsyth (GA).

The 6-foot-5 225-pounder saw his recruitment take off this time last year with a two-touchdown performance in the 2020 Corky Kell Classic against Mays. Shortly after that opening game, Delp started earning offers from major programs across the country, with one of his first offers coming from Kirby Smart and Todd Hartley

The Wolverines were back in this year’s Corky Kell Classic and Delp left right where he left off from last year. The playmaking tight end hauled in a second-half touchdown, proving why he’s one of the nation’s best.

Delp grabbed a pass on a short crossing route, and once he had the ball, he wasn’t going to be stopped. He’s so dangerous after the catch and proved to be too much for the Carver-Atlanta defense. Delp broke multiple tackles after the catch and galloped into the end-zone with ease to give the Wolverines a two-touchdown lead.

Delp, who could be coming close to a decision in late September, spoke to Dawg Post about what he likes the most about the Bulldogs and where his recruitment stands.

“One thing that really stands out with them is their coaches haven’t taken the gas off yet”, Delp told Dawg Post. “Or their players. They’re all recruiting me as hard as they ever have been. I’ve also realized that their defense is so good and so dominant that being able to go up against them in practice could really shape someone into an NFL draft pick and help me develop.”

Last week the former Vickery Creek Viper released his “Final 4” that included Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson, and Michigan. Delp took official visits to Georgia, South Carolina and Michigan in June, but he’s unsure if he’ll use his final official visit to Clemson just yet.

Dawg Post expects a commitment to come around his mother's birthday on September 30th. Delp and his parents plan on attending the Georgia/Clemson game in Charlotte on September 4th.

Dawg Post ranks Delp as the No.6 prospect in the state of Georgia for the 2022 class. He’s also ranked in the Composite rankings as the No.93 overall prospect in the country.
