ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs’ epic season-opening showdown with the Clemson Tigers is only weeks away.

Today Georgia’s athletic association released information to donors letting them know how high their contribution level had to be over time in order to get regular seats or club level tickets to watch Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs play in Charlotte.

According to an e-mail to UGA football donors, “those who requested with a cumulative priority of 24,001 and higher will receive tickets.” Club level tickets are a bit more challenging to secure. “Donors who requested with a cumulative priority of 90,140 and higher will receive tickets,” the e-mail read.

That level of contribution is required to get tickets from UGA. Donors must then purchase tickets to get into the game. On the secondary market the UGA-Clemson game is ranging anywhere from near $300 and above in the upper deck and typically above $800 in the lower deck.

“Cumulative priority” has been tied directly to the amount of money a donor has given UGA’s Hartman Fund, which has been the fundraising arm of the Bulldogs’ football program for decades. For years one point equaled one dollar given, and that’s largely still the case, but in some cases the Bulldogs have allowed points to be earned with matches or by donating above the $25,000 level over a period of time.

Georgia also confirmed that donors who had “at least 550 cumulative priority points or higher and selected adjacent seats through the Seat Selection Process, had the opportunity to secure adjacent 2021 Football Season Tickets.”

The Clemson game was the only non-home game that Georgia made comment on in the e-mail. Games at Vanderbilt, Auburn, Tennessee and Georgia Tech “are in-process and will be announced once determined.” Georgia’s annual tussle with the Gators in Jacksonville has also not yet had a cut-off determined.
